Live at the Apollo

Live at the Apollo is a 1963 release that established James Brown as an R&B superstar, rising to #2 on Billboard where it charted for 66 weeks. Brown was joined by his vocal group, the Famous Flames to cover hit after hit without a pause exciting the vocal crowd that is clearly heard throughout the show. The record even breaks Side A to Side B in the middle of ‘Long Someone’ adding the to breathless feel of this recording. A nice copy of the 1965 re-issue of this rare album has arrived at the shop in Sprinklz-Clinton this week, included in a new section of Soul/R&B vinyl. Hope you find something that you’ll enjoy.
