Todd Rundgren’s debut record Runt was released in 1970, but not credited as a solo record because Rundgren had doubts about being a viable solo artist. This record is pure 60’s/70’s pop music including the #20 hit We Gotta Get You a Woman, but after a few successful pop albums like this, he changed his style dramatically. Rundgren went on to have a long career as a innovative musician with records such as Something/Anything and A Wizard, a True Star. He is almost as well known for his success as a producer including records by Badfinger, Grand Funk, New York Dolls, The Tubes and XTC.
